Big Top Idol Vocal Competition

Since 2010, Big Top Chautauqua’s annual vocal competition has remained a fan-favorite show every season. Each summer the best singers in the area audition for their chance to perform on the legendary Big Top stage. Singers 13 and under compete in the Jr. Idol category while those 14 and above compete for the title of Big Top Idol. ​
After auditions a core group of finalists are chosen to work with performers from the Blue Canvas Orchestra to prepare for the live show, where audience members get to vote and crown a new Jr. Idol and Big Top Idol!

Audition Information

This year, contestants can audition virtually or in-person!

​Jr. Contestants will be competing for a cash prize of $250, while adult contestants will be competing for cash prizes of $250 for 3rd place, $500 for 2nd place, and $1,000 for 1st place!
AUDITION IN PERSON | SATURDAY, JUNE 29, 3:00-5:00PM
Auditions will be held at The Backstage, located at the Big Top Chautauqua Box Office at 84810 Hwy 31, Bayfield, WI. Each contestant should prepare two songs to perform acapella for our panel of judges. 
AUDITION ONLINE | SATURDAY, JUNE 29 - SUNDAY, JULY 7
Virtual submissions will open at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 29 and will close at 10:00pm on Sunday, July 7th. Each contestant should prepare two songs, performed acapella, to submit in a mp4 or mov file type for our panel of judges to review.
