If you make a gift or sponsorship through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA or from a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), IRS regulations require that the contribution provide no goods or services in return.
This means that if your QCD gift qualifies you for donor recognition or sponsorship benefits that have a fair market value (such as tickets, merchandise, or event access), those benefits must be waived — or the fair market value of those benefits must be paid separately with non-IRA funds.
