A Message from the Executive Director of Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua: Our Response to the Global Health Emergency
March 24, 2020
Dear Big Top Family,
Usually this time of year we are so anxious to announce our exciting line up of summer shows. Winter/Spring is a very busy time of preparation to get everything ready to welcome you to the tent in June. This year, everyone is anxious because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, and some are wondering when we will all be able to gather again to share music and fellowship. Our summer concert ritual feeds our collective soul and adds joy to our lives.
At Big Top, we continue to make our plans to be ready for our 35th season opener in June. We remain optimistic that “the show will go on!” Our Board of Directors and staff do however acknowledge and share the concerns posed by this health emergency. We remain vigilant as the news changes daily and are deeply committed to the health and safety of our staff, patrons, volunteers and supporters. We continue to monitor updates by the CDC and WI Department of Health Services for recommendations and specific protocols.
We will keep you posted if there are any changes in our summer plans. Meanwhile, you can get your Big Top fix through our Tent Show Radio show and archives which you can access through our website. We are planning to bring you some Blue Canvas Orchestra live events over the airwaves in the coming days to keep us all connected. Grab a glass of wine and close your eyes and you’ll be back in the tent – until we can all really be back in the tent!
At this time our office is currently closed to the public – we invite you to connect via phone and online. We continue to announce shows, sell tickets and seek contributions as we head into the summer season. We are thinking of you, all of our Big Top family and the world's people at this difficult time. Please reach out with questions or comments, or just send us a note to keep in touch.

Love to you all,
